Marigold
No Diwali doorway looks finished without genda. Marigold's saffron and yellow are read as auspicious across Hindu, Sikh and Jain homes, which is why it hangs over front doors on Dhanteras, fills the puja thali on Lakshmi Puja and outlines the rangoli on the doorstep. The same flower dresses Ganesh Chaturthi pandals and haldi mornings through the rest of the year.
Marigold comes in three forms here. Loose yellow and orange genda heads are sold for rangoli, puja plates and floating in urli bowls. Ladi or lari strings in yellow and orange – plain or with mango leaves – are sold by the metre for doors, balconies, mandir backdrops and mandap frames. Smaller pieces turn it into jewellery: marigold kangan with rose, tuberose kangan with a marigold centre, and a bridal set of orange marigold and red roses with gypsophila for the haldi.
For a toran-style Diwali doorway, alternate yellow and orange strings with a mango-leaf border, and book your delivery slot a few days before Dhanteras, as festival slots fill first. See everything for the festival in Diwali flowers.

Marigold in Dubai – questions & answers
Does marigold last outdoors in UAE summer?
Marigold is the toughest flower we string. On a shaded balcony or doorway a genda ladi usually stays bright for a full day and often into the next, even in summer. In direct afternoon sun the petal tips dry first; a mist of water in the evening slows this.
How much marigold string do I need for a doorway?
Measure the width of the door and the height of each side, then add the drops you want hanging across the top. A standard door with a fringe of hanging strings usually needs several times its width in total length. Send us the measurements on WhatsApp and we will work out the quantity.
What is the difference between yellow and orange marigold?
Both are genda and both are used at pujas. Orange, close to saffron, is the colour most associated with Ganesh and Diwali decoration, while yellow is preferred for the haldi ceremony and Basant. Alternating the two in one doorway is the most common combination we prepare.
Do you deliver marigold the same day?
Yes. Order by 6 PM (UAE time) for same-day delivery in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, seven days a week; delivery to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain is next day. You choose the delivery date and a time slot at checkout.
Can I add a message card?
Yes. Write your card message at checkout – we print it and attach it to the flowers.
Which areas do you deliver to?
All seven UAE emirates: Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman same day when you order by 6 PM; Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain next day.
How much does delivery cost?
In Dubai delivery costs AED 19–59 depending on the order value. The exact fee for your emirate is shown at checkout before you pay.
