Carnations
Carnation is the colour-maker of the Indian garland. Its ruffled heads hold their petals far longer than a rose in a warm hall, so most of our two-tone haar use carnation for the coloured band and tuberose or chrysanthemum for the white.
The range is built around weddings: pairs of 30-inch varmala in pink carnation and tuberose, red carnation and tuberose garlands, red-and-white carnation haar, pink carnation with white roses, and fuller chrysanthemum-and-carnation garlands finished with roses, sold singly or as a pair for the couple. Carnation petals also appear in a bridal flower-jewellery set alongside jasmine and tuberose.
Because carnation is sturdy and almost scentless, it is the safest choice for a garland that has to be worn through a long baraat, a reception line or an outdoor nikah, and for anyone who wants a deep pink or red without the fragility of rose petals.

Carnations in Dubai – questions & answers
Why choose carnation instead of rose for a varmala?
Carnation holds its petals for many hours in warm conditions and does not bruise when the garland is lifted over the head or hugged in photographs. Rose petals give a softer, richer look but are more delicate. Many couples choose carnation for a long outdoor ceremony and rose for a short indoor one.
Do pink and red carnation garlands mean different things?
Red is the bridal colour and is linked to marriage and commitment in most South-Asian traditions. Pink is softer and is often chosen to match a pastel outfit, for engagement and sangeet functions, or for the parents' garlands so the couple's red pair stands out.
Is a varmala sold as one garland or a pair?
Both options exist in this category. Items described as a pair include two matching garlands, one for the bride and one for the groom. Single garlands suit guests of honour, parents or a welcome at the airport. Check the product title before adding to the cart.
