Fresh jasmine buds strung by hand onto a single long string. Each bundle runs to about 2 metres and weighs roughly 150–200 grams, which is enough to dress the hair of several guests, edge a pooja thali, or trim a small mandap.

A note on natural variation. Jasmine is strung by hand and made fresh to order, so length, bud size and the number of flowers on a bundle vary a little with the season and the day’s harvest. Each bundle weighs roughly 150–200 grams and measures about 2 metres.
