Purple
Purple is the rarest colour in traditional South-Asian flower work, because few of the flowers that can be threaded come in it naturally. When it does appear, it is associated with dignity and with the South-Indian temple, where purple vadamalli and orchids are offered alongside white jasmine.
Pieces in this colour include an 18-inch garland of purple dendrobium orchids, light and long-lasting, used for welcoming a guest of honour, a graduation or an arrival at the airport. There is also a garland that alternates white tuberose with purple vadamalli, the globe amaranth that keeps its colour for days, in the style of a Chennai or Jaffna temple garland.
For more purple, ask about adding orchid florets to a jasmine kangan, or for a lilac palette at a reception, pair these garlands with white tuberose strings so the purple has a clean frame around it.

Purple in Dubai – questions & answers
Why are there so few purple garlands?
Most flowers that thread well, such as jasmine, tuberose, marigold and carnation, do not grow in true purple. Orchids and vadamalli are the dependable exceptions, so the purple range stays small.
Which purple garland lasts longest?
Both last well. The vadamalli and tuberose garland keeps its purple for days because vadamalli is naturally papery, though the tuberose softens sooner. The orchid garland stays fresh through an evening and often the next day if kept cool. For a long event outdoors, vadamalli is the safer choice.
Is a purple garland suitable for a graduation?
Yes, the purple orchid garland is a popular graduation and achievement garland because it is light, scentless and photographs well over a gown. Add the graduate's name and the ceremony time in the order notes so it arrives before photographs begin.
Do you deliver purple the same day?

How fresh are the flowers?
